On September 11–12, 2026, a practical conference “Rehabilitation approaches for SMA and cerebral palsy” will be held in Bishkek. The conference is dedicated to modern methods of diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of children with spinal muscular atrophy (SMA) and cerebral palsy (CP).
The event is attended by specialists from the S.B. Daniyarov Kyrgyz State Medical Institute for Retraining and Advanced Training, for whom participation in such educational events is an important part of their continuous professional development and advanced training of medical personnel.
The conference aims to introduce modern international approaches into the practice of specialists, develop interdisciplinary interactions, and improve the quality of rehabilitation care for children.
Experienced specialists from the United States, Australia, the Netherlands, and other countries will serve as experts and speakers. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about international practices and discuss current rehabilitation issues with colleagues from various medical specialties.

On September 12, the practical part of the program will take place—master classes involving direct patient interaction. Participants will be able to practice approaches to examination, diagnosis, and rehabilitation measures for SMA and cerebral palsy.
The conference is of particular importance for the development of a multidisciplinary approach, in which doctors, physical rehabilitation specialists, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, speech therapists and other specialists jointly participate in the rehabilitation process.
