The Kyrgyz State Medical Institute of Retraining and Advanced Training named after S.B. Daniyarov is a leading organization in the field of postgraduate and continuing professional education in the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
The Faculty of Postgraduate Education and Science (FPEiS) provides training, retraining, and advanced training for medical, pharmaceutical, and other healthcare professionals within the framework of the continuous professional education system.
Goals and objectives of the faculty
The main goal of postgraduate education is:
- improving the theoretical knowledge and practical skills of specialists;
- improving the professional level of doctors;
- training of personnel in accordance with the current needs of the healthcare system of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Regulatory framework
Postgraduate education is carried out in accordance with the current regulatory legal acts of the Kyrgyz Republic:
- Resolution of the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic dated December 11, 2017 No. 798
- Order of the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic No. 27 of January 17, 2018
- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic dated September 4, 2023, No. 444
The number of budget and contract places in residency is determined and approved annually by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Forms of postgraduate education
The following forms of education are offered at the S.B. Daniyarov Kazan State Medical Institute of Advanced Training and Continuing Education:
Residency
- Admission is carried out on a competitive basis ;
- Entrance examinations: computer testing and interview;
- The duration of study is from 1 to 3 years (depending on the specialty).
Internship
Since 2023, an internship (training period – 1 year ) has been introduced in the following specialties:

Practical training for students is provided at leading medical organizations in Bishkek and other regions of the republic, accredited by the Ministry of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic.

Admission to residency
To apply, you must submit the following documents to the Admissions Committee:
- – Statement
- — Personal record sheet
- — Autobiography
- — A copy and original of the identity card
- — A copy and original of the diploma of graduation from a medical university, or a certificate from the dean’s office
- — A copy and original of the diploma supplement
- — A health certificate (Form 086/U) with all columns fully filled out
- — A copy and original of the military ID or registration certificate
- — 3×4 photographs (2 pcs.) cut out (photographs must be taken in the current calendar year)
- — 1 folder.
- The package of documents is submitted to the Admissions Committee of the Kazan State Medical Institute of Policy and Professional Development named after S.B. Daniyarov
